God Blesses Us Through Others
Ever notice that when you try and do something really nice for someone else, it often turns out that you feel blessed because of something that someone in turn does for you. The more we try and make other people feel better, the better we feel. With that in mind read Psalm 67 this morning.
“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.”
When you get really good news, like a raise at work or a promotion, you feel so great that you just can’t keep it to yourself. You tell your friends and family about it.
Well, it is the same way when we tell others about Jesus. God will bless us and them also. As it says in Psalm 67:5-6, “May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest and God our God will bless us.” So, by spreading the Gospel to others, we receive His blessings and they get benefits also. So, it works both ways. Is that a neat concept or what? Telling others pays off for both parties. Praising God means we get His gifts. We reach out to others and they respond back by praising God.
We should tell others about Jesus at every opportunity.
Points To Ponder: How does God bless us? How often should we tell others? How can other people benefit?
Prayer Possibilities: Pray that we can spread God’s Word more often. Pray for courage to do the work He wants. Pray that people will respond back.
It is awesome to recieve something back when you’ve hepled someone or done something for someone. I remember the Rock Solid in Sept. I was hepling set stuff up, and yeah i thought hmm well i helped set up maybe i should help clean up, cause i felt like if i walked out when it was over it would be in the back of my mind that i should have stayed and helped. So i did stay and help put hte chairs back and Michael and i aslo helped the band claen up too. Something unexspected happened is that Traced Image gave us a free CD. I guess a way of saying thank you, but We only came to have a good time and help, that was like WOW. Sometimes there’s something that says just ask to see if anyone needs help. i felt good inside when we were helping them, tired but good. GOD IS AWESOME!!!!!
